Free, open-source software to reduce the mental workload of organic producers

A former computer engineer working on video games, Vincent Guth left the French capital to become an organic producer near the city of Clermont-Ferrand. In 2019, he created the 'ouvretaferme.org' platform, a free, open-source software package designed to help organic producers plan their work: tasks carried out, tasks to be carried out, harvests, sales, remaining stocks, calculation of the cost price for each crop... The platform has already attracted almost 500 French farmers.

"Today, thanks to the centralization of data (crop plan, sales, working hours), we have a precise economic analysis of each series. It is a strategic tool for any diversified farm," according to the ouvretaferme.org website.
