In Oisterwijk, a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant, Martien and Gerrie Scheffers run a thriving greenhouse horticulture business. The company currently focuses on growing strawberries in greenhouses and selling their products through a local farm shop.
However, as the couple explains in their presentation video for the ZLTO series Boer zoekt Boer ("Farmer Seeks Farmer"), the location also offers unique opportunities in terms of spatial planning and development.
Martien and Gerrie are now looking for successors to take over the business. While they are in no rush, they note with a smile, "Of course, it shouldn't take fifteen years."
