CAN: Ontario Plants announces new leadership team amidst major expansion

As Ontario Plants enters a new chapter in its history, it has announced the completion of the first phase of its Glencoe facility, an expansion into soft fruits and tissue culture, and new appointments in leadership positions in the company.

Over the past year, the company has taken steps to strengthen its competitive edge through forward-looking investments in people, infrastructure, and new market opportunities. The Glencoe facility, designed with scalability and innovation at its core, is a large part of this strategy.

By the end of 2025, Glencoe will operate as a fully standalone site—creating two independent facilities and giving Ontario Plants greater flexibility, risk mitigation, and capacity to serve a broader customer base. This expansion enables the company to meet rising demand, reduce biosecurity risks, and unlock new growth opportunities across North America.

Ontario Plants is also entering the tissue culture and soft fruit propagation space—two fast-growing segments that promise long-term returns and market differentiation. These initiatives are supported by a refreshed leadership team poised to drive performance, scale operations, and build enduring partnerships.

The new leadership team
Laurent Mareschal – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Laurent Mareschal brings extensive experience in corporate finance, scaling agribusinesses, and securing long-term capital investments. As CFO, Laurent will focus on strengthening Ontario Plants' financial foundation, enabling investments in innovation, infrastructure, and future acquisitions.

"Joining Ontario Plants at such a pivotal time is incredibly exciting," said Laurent. "The company is uniquely positioned for sustainable growth. I look forward to driving financial strategies that support these initiatives."

Isak Fast

Isaak Fast – Director of Sales
Isaak has played a critical role in strengthening customer relationships and aligning the commercial team with Ontario Plants' growth objectives. His leadership will be key to expanding market presence and delivering value to new and existing customers.

CEO's vision
"With the new leadership team, the completion of the Glencoe facility's first phase, revitalizing our St. Thomas facility and expanding into new crops and technologies, Ontario Plants is well-positioned for the future," said Mathieu van de Sande, CEO. "These milestones are a testament to our commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. I am confident that combining these initiatives and our talented team will propel us to even greater success."
