Turkey: Growers receiving modern growing tools to support them

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey continues to provide significant support to farmers with the "Greenhouse Development Project", which it has implemented in order to support the sustainability of the agricultural sector and rural development. In this context, 50 modern greenhouses with a 42 percent grant were completed and delivered to farmers this year to enable producers to grow high-yield and high-quality products in modern greenhouses.

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality carries out various projects with the aim of supporting sustainable agriculture and rural development with its farmer-friendly approach. In addition to fuel, fertilizer and seed support, the "Greenhouse Development Project" aims to spread greenhouse farming throughout the province.

In this regard, 42 turnkey modern greenhouses prepared by evaluating the demands made for the spring season were delivered to the producers with an organized ceremony. Farmers, who also received fertilizer support, quickly started growing vegetables in their new modern greenhouses.

In Kocaeli, thanks to the modern greenhouse, seed and fertilizer support provided by the Metropolitan Municipality, there has been a significant increase in greenhouse farming. With these supports, approximately 90 acres of agricultural land have been brought into greenhouse farming. Farmers who grow various products such as tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, eggplant and cucumber in modern greenhouses have been very pleased with the high yield and product quality they have achieved in recent years.
