Yemeni Minister of Agriculture visit nursery to see seedling progress

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai and Secretary-General of the Local Council in Sana'a province Abdulqader al-Jailani on Sunday inspected al-Hataresh Nursery to assess the progress of agricultural seedling production.

During the visit, they were briefed on the efforts to rehabilitate and reactivate the nursery, which spans over 8 hectares and is one of the largest in the governorate. Engineer Ali al-Qairi, head of the agricultural sector in the province, provided details on the nursery's production, which currently includes 150,000 seedlings of various fruit trees, such as apples, almonds, plums, pears, guava, and pomegranates.

Additionally, 50,000 seedlings of apples and almonds were transferred from the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the province.

Both al-Rubai and al-Jailani emphasized the importance of further rehabilitating agricultural nurseries, increasing the production of fruit tree seedlings, and expanding their cultivation, particularly during the afforestation season, to support sustainable agriculture and environmental development in the region.
