Greenhouses operate according to the Chinese model in Tajikistan's Sughd region

In Sughd region of Tajikistan, 536 greenhouses are currently operational, as reported by the Region's Main Department of Agriculture. Among these, 5 are deemed innovative, while 275 follow the Chinese model. These greenhouses primarily cultivate tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and various other vegetables. Collectively, these structures span across 55 hectares.

Distribution-wise, 135 greenhouses operate in the Mastcho District, 31 in Asht, 34 in Kanibadam, 15 in Isfara, 12 in Spitamen, 40 in J. Rasulov, 26 in Pendjikent, 12 in Istaravshan, 205 in Bobojongafur, 7 in Khujand, 13 in Devashitich, and 6 in Zafarabad.

However, certain areas house inactive greenhouses. In Bobojongafur, 8 greenhouses remain idle, while 4 sit dormant in J. Rasulov and 1 in Devashitich.

In 2023, Sughd's agricultural sector yielded 908 tons of greenhouse crops, including 562.2 tons of tomatoes, 156.2 tons of cucumbers, and 189 tons of bell peppers, green onions, cilantro, and dill.
