RedStar has appointed Irénke Meekma as CEO, effective March 4. She succeeds Peter Kalden, who held the position in addition to his original role as Chief Financial Officer.
Meekma brings extensive experience in the food sector. She has been associated with Greenyard, a global player in fruits and vegetables, in various capacities for many years. In her most recent role, she led the Division that includes Bakker Barendrecht. Subsequently, she served as CEO of Royal Zeelandia, a major international specialist in bakery ingredients.
The appointment of Meekma follows the recent hiring of Koen van Hartevelt as Commercial Director. In De Lier, they talk about 'further strengthening of the leadership team' and 'an additional boost in sector knowledge.'
