AFFELDT Maschinenbau presents optimized technology at Fruit Logistica:

"Thanks to a new development, we can produce almost 100 clip nets per minute"

The next stage of development is an important topic in the field of machine and system technology. "We would like to present our latest innovation to the industry at Fruit Logistica in Berlin. We have developed our 14-lane weighing machine AVN 112-CW14FF with weighing containers and cross conveyors. In practice, this means that we are now utilizing two AVN 929 net clippers to the limit of their capacity and can produce 100 clip nets per minute," says Torben Ellerbrock, Sales Manager at AFFELDT Maschinenbau, based in Neuendorf.

The process can be used in a wide variety of product areas, such as citrus, potatoes, or onions. Ellerbrock: "Wherever products need to be distributed to two packaging machines at high output. We also have a discharge system where we have four outlets so that either two clippers or two vertical flow-wrapping machines can be used." Some systems are already installed in Spain and the next three will be delivered and commissioned soon. Further projects are to be realized in the Netherlands and northern Germany, among other places.

Greater accuracy with high performance
In addition to its impressive performance, the process is characterized by its design, continues Ellerbrock. Among other things, the line was conceived with an open design for easy cleaning and maintenance. "Additionally, we have equipped the system with a separate frame for the chute and weighing unit in order to minimize the effects of vibrations on the weighing result. This, in turn, leads to a higher weighing accuracy with a constant, high output."

Affeldt's main focus is on the further development of the machine portfolio and the revision of current systems. "Our presence at last year's Fruit Logistica was a great starting point for us after the long break due to coronavirus. This year, together with our strong partnerships, we expect to intensify existing contacts and make new contacts in the industry," Ellerbrock concludes.
