Seed company Enza Zaden has recently introduced a new pepper to growers in both openland conditions and under net, a variety called Triology.
“Triology is a must for all open field and net production growers who make use of the Spanish trellising method, and who are searching for a box filler of good yield and fruit quality,” says Johan Stassen, Enza Zaden product developer for this segment.
“The variety offers larger, but high quality blocky fruit with a high packout percentage over a long crop cycle.”
Johan adds that it can be used throughout the planting season as it is a very adaptable variety.
It performs well under warm conditions.
Not only does the plant’s substantial leaf cover protect against sunburn, but it is also highly resistant against cracking.
Its colouration is vibrant, whether green or red, making it the ultimate choice for pepper plantings during the main season, Enza Zaden believes.

“In combination with a strong disease package of TSWV, PVY and Pc resistance, this is a very reliable variety. This is also an easy growing variety with no special production needs.”
