Henk Boers travels the world:

"They proudly tell their customers: 'We have one from the Netherlands'"

For more than 15 years, Henk Boers (73) traveled the world doing horticultural projects. It has taken him from Turkey to China and from the Bahamas to Dubai. He wrote a book about his experiences: Henk Boers: Westland Horticultural Globetrotter. At Rodi, he tells his story.

"I had actually never thought about the fact that you could also work outside Europe, but it seemed like a good idea. I stayed there for two years. Then, I also did quite a few shorter projects in China, Armenia, the Bahamas, and Ivory Coast. I also worked in Dubai for a super-rich sheikh."

Is it really true that Dutch horticulture is so highly regarded?
It is 100 percent true. Wherever I go, everyone knows the Netherlands in that field. They also proudly tell their customers: 'We have one from the Netherlands.'

Henk continues with horticultural tours 'as long as he enjoys it.' Read the whole story here. (NL)
