NASA employee: "The Netherlands is a world leader in greenhouse horticulture"

The aerospace and greenhouse industries are learning from each other and lending techniques to each other, according to a piece from EenVandaag.

Professor of Horticulture and Product Physiology Leo Marcelis of Wageningen University is pleased with all the knowledge that NASA has gained in recent years. "NASA's astronauts have taken crops with them on their trips to space to experiment with. How do vegetables grow without sunlight, with little water and little soil? They have acquired a lot of knowledge on that subject," said the professor.
