Russian ecologists have created a nutrient composition for growing vegetables and fruits in the Arctic

Scientists at the Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology have developed a nutrient solution for soilless agriculture that provides plants with necessary micronutrients, enabling optimal growth even in harsh climates.

The nutrient solution, formulated with chelated micronutrients, demonstrated superior results compared to international alternatives, with 30% higher biomass growth, 65% higher root mass, and 16% larger leaf area. While other additives for soilless cultivation exist globally, the Russian innovation surpassed all foreign analogs.

The researchers plan to further modify the nutrient composition for different crops and different growth stages. This development will make agricultural crops more affordable in challenging regions.
