Astral Aviation realizes scheduled cargo service from Nairobi to Tel Aviv

Astral Aviation has announced the launch of its new B757F Scheduled service from Nairobi to Tel Aviv. There was a ceremony taking place at Astral’s Hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport; it was attended by the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in Kenya, Mithika Linturi, and the Israeli Ambassador in Kenya, Michael Lotem.

According to Sanjeev Gadhia, the CEO of Astral Aviation, the direct flight from Nairobi to Tel Aviv will reduce the transit time (from 24 to 5 hours) for Kenyan perishables. These were routed via other hubs such as Istanbul, Addis Ababa, and Dubai previously. It will also ensure that they will arrive fresh and of the highest quality, while on the return will enable exports from Israel to reach Africa via its Nairobi Hub, this opening new opportunities and new markets for Africa and Israel.
