Gartenbau-Versicherung receives some 20 reports of glass breakage in the Kassel area

German storm causes a lot of glass damage

The storms that swept across Germany last month caused numerous losses, particularly in the Kassel area. Farms in other parts of Germany were also affected. Hail and heavy rain caused numerous small to medium damages, mainly to greenhouse complexes.

The Kassel area was particularly affected, with around 20 reports of glass breakage alone reaching the insurance company Gartenbau-Versicherung. In a quarter of these cases, the number of broken panes was between 1000 and 1500, and in some cases, more than 80% of the roof area was damaged by hail.

Currently, the employees of Gartenbau-Versicherung are on the road in the affected areas to ensure a timely recording and settlement of claims and, if necessary, to manage advance payments.
