Garden strawberries have already appeared on the shelves of stores

Berry producers are in no hurry to expand production

Investment in the Russian berry industry is facing challenges, as logistical disruptions and economic uncertainty affect the supply chain and market growth.

The Ministry of Agriculture's localisation guidelines could also impact farms' ability to grow these crops. Due to falling incomes, producers lack confidence that the fruit and berry market will grow, as fruits are a category on which people often economise.

Despite these hurdles, tunnel greenhouses have started harvesting garden strawberries, and honeysuckle is starting to flower. However, much will depend on whether there will be frosts in May. The success of the industry may be impacted by additional complications and damage caused by these issues.
