Grapes are grown for the first time in a greenhouse in Manisa, Türkiye

In the greenhouse created by Mustafa Otuk in the Sarigol district of Manisa, greenhouse grapes were grown for the first time. This was also the first time Mustafa Otuk tried greenhouse grape cultivation, and he expects to harvest the first products on May 15.

Mustafa started to grow the grape variety after investing 15.000 USD last year, but the vines were affected by the frost due to the insufficient heating system. Because of this, he decided to try Arra 30 seedless grape variety this year. Mustafa said that he was satisfied with the grapes and that during the initial establishment stage, he received support from the District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate.

"The Arra 30 variety is very compatible with greenhouse production and is harvested 15 days earlier than our previous variety. We will harvest our grapes very early in the season, between May 15 and 30, just like the Erdemli Region of Mersin."

Explaining that he started this business in Sarigol by taking samples from the greenhouses he saw in Mersin Erdemli, Mustafa added, "Identifying a suitable variety is a very valuable component when it comes to the greenhouse production of grapes in our region. With this product, we will take our farming one step further and get a variety that can compete with the European standards."
