Three Dutch growers merge

Three greenhouse vegetable growers join forces. Fresh Valley, Tielemans Groentekwekerij, and Mellantas are taking the step to further expand an existing collaboration. The joining of forces also brings together experienced and new growers.

The history of the companies goes back to the last century. In the 1950s, the Van den Brand and Tielemans families were introduced to horticulture. 25 years ago, the cooperation between companies started with growing tomatoes. By further joining forces, the company grew to over 25 hectares of fruit and vegetable cultivation at locations in Uden, Boekel, Maasbree, and Sevenum.

Under the name Fresh Valley, Fit-Q mini cucumbers are grown and sold alongside l'Amuse vine cherry tomatoes, with Sevenum becoming the main location. Sales of the grown strawberries and cucumbers will continue through the current channels, respectively BerryWorld in Made and Kompany in Venlo.

Thanks to the cooperation, the growers aim to reach 'an even higher level'. The knowledge and experience will be combined to optimise HR and energy in addition to sales.

Rejuvenation
The cooperation gives the company a good balance between the years of experience of Bert van den Brand and René Tielemans combined with rejuvenation with Giel Janssen and Sam van Duifhuizen. This is also important for continuity.

Teun van Roosmalen

Sales and packaging
All l'Amuse vine cherry tomatoes and Fit-Q mini cucumbers are packed and sold from Sevenum by Teun van Roosmalen, with the tomatoes also remaining available for the clock at Veiling ZON. Teun has traded his many years' career in fresh produce trading for direct sales. "Growing and selling directly from the garden of passionate growers has always appealed to me, and I am happy that I can now make a difference by selling fresh produce with the same passion."
