Belgian company's second generation steps in

After 36 years, Jacques Maes is stepping away from his family business, Vermako Greenhouses. This Belgian company's second generation is taking over. Jacques will focus on innovation and work with the company's R&D department. That was announced as part of the company's New Year's message. Jacques is starting to take things easier and plans to retire in 2025.

The Maes family's first and second generation.

In the 35+ years that Jacques ran the business, it grew from a one-man show to an active international player, thanks to distributors, on four continents.

Today, Vermako Greenhouses and Vermako Covers have a two-hectare production location. In the early days, that was a small, simple workshop.

As of 2023, the company has taken on additional machines to make vital production steps without the need for brokers. For example, it can now produce round and oval tubing in-house.
