Strawberry volumes increase by 20% in Egypt

The strawberry season in Egypt will see an increase in volume, according to Mr. Mohammed Ezzat, CEO of Green Nile Egypt. Mr. Ezzat explains: "The increase will be around 20%, and it is due to the colder weather this season in Egypt, as well as to updates in cultivation techniques. However, there will be variations in quality."

Green Nile Egypt produces and exports several crops. Mr. Ezzat describes his operations: "We are a manufacturer of frozen fruits and vegetables, using the IQF method. Our main crop is strawberries, and we have the advantage of being producers ourselves, which allows us to control our quality and distribute a pesticide-free product." The company exports to many destinations around the world and hopes to grow in the European market.

According to Ezzat, prices of frozen strawberries are still unstable due to the fluctuation of the Egyptian pound against the US dollar.
