In the 1990s, Lin Haiying set up a greening company in response to the government's call for "greening for all" and bought land in the Dayang Development Zone.
When other people grow blueberries, they usually buy young blueberry plants and plant them in suitable soil. After one or two years of cultivation, they can bear fruit, and fruits can be sold. But Lin Haiying is different. In 2007, she went to Jilin Agricultural University and Dalian University to introduce provenance and went to Nanjing Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, to learn technology.
In 2009, she invested 500,000 RMB. With the technical support of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, she established a tissue culture laboratory. Through tissue culture technology, she selectively cultivated bottles of blueberry seedlings and welcomed the first batch of blueberry seedlings more than a year later. Lin went from a female entrepreneur who knew nothing about blueberries to a "blueberry sister" who gave life to blueberry seedlings.
After several years of exploration, the technology of cultivating blueberry seedlings has gradually matured and stabilized, but there is still no slack. Her efforts have paid off richly, and her fruits are sweet, unique and nutritious.
In 2021, the policy of "returning forests to farmland" was introduced, and many farmers were caught off guard. At this time, the green bottle seedlings in the laboratory gave her new hope. "Can I directly sell the blueberry seedlings in the bottle? My advantage is not just in the land, but in technology." She thought.
In the beginning, she successfully introduced and cultivated the first batch of blueberry seedlings, relying on courage and scientific spirit. In the future, it is persistence and scientific and technological strength that will support the development of the industry.
