Quarantine phytosanitary zone established due to South American tomato moth

The Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Rostov, Volgograd, and Astrakhan regions and the Republic of Kalmykia, during the monitoring of the quarantine phytosanitary condition of the territory of the Samara rural settlement of the Azov district of the Rostov region, identified a quarantine object - the South American tomato moth (Tutaabsoluta (Meyrick).

The South American tomato moth also destroys eggplants, peppers, potatoes, and many wild and ornamental plants. Order No. 01.07.2022 of the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor “On the establishment of a quarantine phytosanitary zone and a quarantine phytosanitary regime for the South American tomato moth (Tutaabsoluta (Meyrick))” established a quarantine phytosanitary zone and a quarantine phytosanitary regime for the South American tomato moth.

A program was approved to localize the focus of the South American tomato moth and eliminate the population of the quarantine object.
