The three Naturaplan organic salad bowls are now packaged in a cardboard tray. With this change, the Swiss food retail group Coop will save 17 tons of plastic annually. This is reported in the latest sustainability article.
After consumption, the film is removed from the carton by hand. What remains is a 100% recyclable carton, which can be discarded in the appropriate bin.
The solution is part of the 'deeds not words' strategy: since 2012, Coop has been committed to reducing plastic and is gradually switching to sustainable alternatives. As a result, Coop has already been able to reduce or optimize some 36,500 tons of packaging material.
