Irish grower secures new €7.5M contract with Aldi

Irish strawberry greenhouse Sunglow Nurseries has agreed to continue supplying the 150 Aldi Ireland stores with their early-season premium Bord Bia Quality Assured Irish strawberries. The new €7.5M contract was signed last week.

Sunglow Nurseries has supplied the Irish Aldi stores for more than 14 years. Last year, the Dublin-based company opened a new €1.2m  glasshouse extension which allowed the producer to increase its output capacity by 17%.

According to Aldi, the new contract will see 300 tonnes of Sunglow’s strawberries sold in its nationwide stores annually over the next three years. "Aldi is always proud to support our local Irish suppliers and producers across the country", the company says.
