Yellow and orange TOVs available again

Dutch grower Kees Stijger has yellow and orange TOVs available again. This Harvest house grower has been cultivating unusually colored tomatoes for almost 30 years.

Kees has been growing red, yellow, and orange tomatoes on the vine since 1994. The red ones are well known, of course, but not everyone is familiar with yellow and orange TOVs yet. "It's not only the color; they also taste different. The orange ones are full and firm, the reds taste slightly sweet, and the yellow tomatoes are fresh and juicy," says Kees. Green tomatoes are also increasingly in demand. "These are a unique addition to any dish."

Kees heats his greenhouse geothermally via Trias Westland, making these tomatoes extra sustainable. "We also recirculate all our water and separate our own waste. Our motto, 'striving for a healthy society', rings very true, not only with our products but also by making sustainable choices on our farm too. We're Planet Proof, GlobalGAP and GRASP certified."

Cardboard trays
Now that the Dutch season has begun, these colored tomatoes are available again. They are a nice addition to the tomato assortment, says Harvest House sales representative Simon Zwijgers. "Among other things, we supply these tomatoes in a mixed, tri-colored pack on 100% cardboard trays. That's very sustainable because the packaging is easy to recycle. You can throw the whole tray into the waste paper bin," he concludes.

Harvest House handles all sales of these TOVs.
