FoodVentures promotes localized brand in Chinese market

FoodVentures manages modern agriculture projects in large-scale science parks in the Netherlands, Russia, and Kazakhstan. These high-tech farms provide fresh, safe, and high-quality vegetables for the people in nearby cities. Following the success of these projects, FoodVentures turned their attention to other markets.

The FoodVentures team has taken note of the growing focus on food safety and health among consumers in China's first-tier cities. At the same time, they realize that the modernization of greenhouse agriculture plays an important role in the development of food safety. FoodVentures developed a vision for Chinese greenhouse agriculture and entered the Chinese market. FoodVentures worked together with leading Chinese companies in modern agriculture to set up a large-scale project on Chongming Island in Shanghai. The AI greenhouse project covers an area of 17.5 hectares.

The project is part of Hengda Modern Agriculture Science Park on Chongming Island. FoodVentures constructed an AI greenhouse that is based on Dutch standards for modernized agriculture. The greenhouse produces vegetables without the use of soil, includes high-end irrigation technology, and LED lighting. These technologies greatly increase the efficiency of vegetable growth and reduce the use of space, soil, and water. The AI greenhouse makes efficient use of limited resources.

While maintaining high standards and strict requirements, FoodVentures also ensures a profound connection between their products and specific circumstances in the Chinese market. They promote the localized brand 'VitaBite'. This brand offers vegetable products that are richer in nutrients and better for the environment, while also paying attention to improvement of consumer experience. VitaBite represents a healthy lifestyle.

VitaBite advocates a new lifestyle: eating fruit and vegetables = full enjoyment of happiness. VitaBite promotes a social lifestyle that emphasizes health and happiness. Fruit and vegetables are a vital part of growth whether the fruits and vegetables are cooked or eaten as a snack, whether they are consumed at home or in public, by kids or adults. FoodVentures explores new ways of consuming fruits and vegetables. The company team works hard to make sure that these fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables bring joy to consumers and support their health.

In 2021, FoodVentures began to experiment with more than a dozen different tomato varieties in their greenhouse on Chongming Island. They look like any other snack tomato, but they grow in very neat strings of uniform tomatoes on straight vines. Every branch has at least 12 tomatoes. FoodVentures also prioritizes a reduction of plastic, so their tomatoes are packaged in cardboard boxes. And the cardboard comes from renewable resources. FoodVentures takes the lead in the promotion of this new packaging concept. And the company team plans to scale up their promotion of sustainable packaging methods in the Chinese market this year.

This is the second year that VitaBite has produced snack tomatoes. They can supply tomatoes all year round, but the production volume is still limited. The VitaBite tomatoes are only available in high-end markets in Shanghai.
