"Currently, to produce a sealed plastic overwrap rainbow pepper pack; farmers need to have employees manually handpick, and place bell peppers onto the flow wrappers in-feed conveyor before being sealed. This is a slow process and the bell pepper packing line can only run a minimum of one shift due to a shortage of quality people", the team with Agro PAK Solutions says. They explain how their patented automation assumes the role of the employees, providing de-stemming, stem orientation, and placement of bell peppers onto the flow wrappers in-feed before being wrapped with a plastic seal to produce solo,2,3,4,6 packs of pepper combinations.
Mayson Enterprises and Agro PAK Solutions will host an invitational and will open their doors on Thursday, Feb 09,10,11 2022 to a selected few. They explain that up to most recently, it may have been close to impossible to even find a local company that provides pepper assembly automation for the Ontario greenhouse bell pepper packer.
"Packing with the new solution is done with minimum post-harvest handling, only touched at the time of harvest; this provides retailers and their customers the freshest pepper packs possible due to less handling and quick packaging."
This pre-pack assembly automation provides the ability to run a second or third shift, unheard of before due to the lack of persons available to work.
“This Windsor-built technology is unknown to the general greenhouse grower packer, until now and they will have access to a closer look at how the automation of the stem orientation and placing bell peppers can be achieved without manual labor.
