Melon production started in the thermal greenhouse in Kirsehir, Turkey

With the help of the Kirsehir Ahi Evran University, which previously provided support to investors by producing products such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and eggplants in the thermal research and development greenhouses, Kirsehir became one of the important cities of Turkey, especially in tomato production. This time, the university started melon production in the research and development greenhouse. With the new investments to be made in the coming years, it is expected that Kirsehir will become one of Turkey's most important production centers in the field of thermal agriculture.

Providing information about the work done in the research and development greenhouse, Project Coordinator Dr. Hakan Basak stated that they aim to increase production efficiency and to improve the quality of the products in Galia variety of melons with the pruning and planting frequency they determined. Basak added that they will share the results of the project with the growers and investors engaged in soilless agricultural production in their regions and noted that they strive to produce products that are sustainable and do not pose a risk to human health.
