Trias Westland geothermal net connects four new participants

From the end of February, another 4 growers (Zwinkels, Ammerlaan-Sosef, Van Stickelenburg and Kwekerij Westpoel) have been using geothermal energy from Trias Westland. This connects more than 15.5 hectares of new greenhouse horticulture area.

“The cold weather conditions in February made it abundantly clear that the heat was very much needed. These 4 companies were eager to get going. Despite the frost we were able round off the work," according to Stijn Wolterink, sustainable heat developer at Trias Westland.

Optimal use
Ammerlaan-Sosef has installed a coupling pipe between the two greenhouses, so that the company can use the single heat buffer that is there for both cultivations. Kwekerij Zwinkels plans to primarily use geothermal energy as a boiler company. The 4 new participants are provisionally using the sustainable heat from the first geothermal source of Trias Westland.
