Rwanda last week fetched a total of US$455,490 from horticulture products shipped out of the country weighing 189,817Kg. The consignment included; fruits, vegetables and flowers.
According to Rwanda Fresh, both export quantities and revenues increased by 20.6% and 17% respectively.
The destinations of these fruits, vegetables and flowers are; DRC, Holland, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Dubai, France, Belgium, Germany, Tanzania, Uganda and the United States reports taarifa.rw
Meanwhile, Claude Bizimana the Chief Executive Officer of National Agricultural Export Development Board said last week that market linkage opportunities between exporters and buyers are being made to increase Rwanda’s export volumes to the UAE.
“A contract has been signed with Carrefour, a global company that will boost the increase of income from agri-export value chains,” Bizimana said during the Young Farmers’ Forum Breakfast meeting on December 4.
