"Kazakhstan has great potential in the development of greenhouses"

The issues of cooperation in agribusiness were discussed during the major online event Global AgConnect. The event was organized by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (USA) and Valmont Irrigation. The meeting was attended by the representatives of large American companies, such as Valley Irrigation, Tyson Foods, Kusto Group, Global Beef Consultants, etc.

During the session "Focus on Kazakhstan", the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United States, Yerzhan Kazykhanov, made a welcoming speech. The speaker wished success to the forum participants and expressed confidence in the further improvement of the dynamically developing relations between the state of Nebraska and Kazakhstan and bilateral mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

“The priority for us is to attract foreign investors to the processing of agricultural raw materials: meat and milk, potatoes, sugar beets, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables. In addition to the processing sector, Kazakhstan has great potential in the development of greenhouses. Greenhouses development is attractive both in terms of exports and meeting domestic needs of the population during the off-season. When targeting investors, first of all, we pay attention to the manufacturability of production and the prospect of cluster development. Attracting large companies is not only attracting foreign direct investment, but also transfer of technologies and management experience, growth of labor productivity, access to foreign markets and integration into global value chains,” said G. Matayev.
