Roots is also going to grow Honeytomatoes® in Zevenhuizen in the Netherlands, as the growers announced. In April, Kwekerij Rimato and Oussoren Trostomaten already announced they were merging into one company: Roots. The growers grow tomatoes on a total area of 26 hectares.
In Honselersdijk, that already involved 4 million kilos of Honeytomatoes® for Growers United and in cooperation with Looye Kwekers.
The growers are now also going to grow Honeytomatoes® in Zevenhuizen, the result of the 'large demand' for the tomatoes in the top segment. They will replace the large TOVs. This brings the total production to 7 million kilos, or 650 million tomatoes.
