Da Nang and Dutch businesses boost hi-tech agriculture cooperation

Da Nang and its Dutch partners co-organised a seminar on promoting hi-tech agricultural cooperation between the two sides to improve agricultural productivity with the use of hi-technologies.

The event was held by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in coordination with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Netherlands and the Netherlands - Vietnam Association of Farming Enterprises Cooperation, offering a chance for exchanges between businesses and experts of both sides.

The relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands in recent years has developed strongly. In which, agriculture is one of the priority fields, having brought about specific results on the development of hi-tech agriculture associated with the production of key agricultural products.

The Netherlands is also supporting and cooperating with Vietnam in transforming agriculture in the Mekong Delta towards climate change adaptation and optimally exploiting the potentials and strengths of each region and each locality associated with the market's needs.

The Netherlands and Da Nang have similarities such as limited land availability and being affected by climate change. Therefore, it is required to apply technologies to improve the efficiency of land use, thus creating high quality and safe products for urban use and tourism.

Da Nang has approved the planning of hi-tech agricultural areas in the communes of Hoa Khuong, Hoa Phu, and Hoa Phong (Hoa Vang District) to call for investment, with several enterprises have carried out their projects there, focusing on hi-tech farming of medicinal plants and vegetables.
