"during the installation we integrate a wide range of products within one greenhouse"

SchermNed completed first phase of a 'unique screening project' for Duijvestijn Tomaten

It's one of those projects that makes your heart beat faster, according to SchermNed, and they're in the middle of it. Duijvestijn Tomaten is building a 20 hectare greenhouse and chose SchermNed to install the double screen installations. It is a project full of unique techniques and innovations, like the ValkScreenVision (VSV) fabric retraction system from SchermNed and Van der Valk Horti Systems.

An eye on the future
SchermNed’s Carl Stougie: "We are proud that we have been allowed to realize this project for a great company such as Duijvestijn. During the installation, we integrate a wide range of products within one greenhouse. The VSV system is extra special, a unique innovation which is future-proof."

This system makes retracting as well as replacing screen fabric less time-consuming and less risky for both the crop and the installer, according to Stougie. "A fast, clean and safe system and flexible for each type of fabric. A system with an eye on the future."

Several years of cooperation with Duijvestijn
This is not the first project that SchermNed is carrying out for Duijvestijn. They have previously worked on a demo greenhouse, various renovations and the previous new built project. In order to be awarded this assignment, SchermNed had to compete with many competitors.

Sales manager Carl Stougie is therefore pleased that SchermNed turned out to be the right partner for Duijvestijn. The long-term relationship also results in a fluid collaboration. "Duijvestijn is open to suggestions and looks for the best solutions and, of course, the best price/quality ratio."

Focus on durability, safety and quality
As sales manager, Carl is taking the first steps. Important is that what he sells is also realized. "My colleagues are taking up this project very well. That is appreciated by the customer," says Carl Stougie.

In addition to the VSV system, also special 140 mm reversible bearings and 2 'inch' folding bearings with 8 ball-bearings are installed. The rolling facades, special ridge screens and a windbreak mesh complete the installation. The focus in this greenhouse is on durability, safety and quality.

Ready for the second phase
The first phase of the project has now been completed. The technical installation is ready. As soon as the construction of the greenhouse is completed, SchermNed can start with phase 2: the actual installation. "With a project like this you are dependent on various parties, they also have to cooperate well. At all times it must be possible to switch. At the end of the day, everyone wants to set up a superior project," Stougie concludes.
