Russian grower plants Palermo peppers

A Russian grower recently shared an update featuring their new crop of bell peppers: red, orange, yellow and chocolate ones.

It is the first time that they planted bell peppers on such a big acreage – 0.3 ha. Palermo is an Italian variety of bell peppers with long, conoid fruit. At the tasting assessment, it has shown the best results in the ratio of sweetness/sourness, also in juiciness, aftertaste and skin density. The fruit is very long, they sometimes reach 25-30 cm, has thick walls and is sweeter than apples, according to the grower. Children love these bell peppers and eat them as fruit.

Together with Palermo, short fruit bell pepper varieties ripen in the greenhouse. They are not that sweet and bright but they are good for salads and other dishes.
