Artificial light trial with Tomberry

In 2019, Eminent Seeds began an artificial light trial for the Tomberry at the World Horti Centre in Naaldwijk. The goal of this trial is to establish how the Tomberry reacts to artificial lighting and if it kept its quality constant under these circumstances for growers. Vlogger Linda visited the World Horti Center to take a look at this trial.

Tomberry is a special variety and requires a completely different approach compared to other tomatoes. On big strong bunches with lots of smaller branches you will see tomatoes averaging the weight of 1.5 gram. The plant itself has a very thin stem but attention must be paid to a generative growing environment.

Eminent Seeds has extensive experience in the growing of Tomberries under normal circumstances but since September last year, Tomberry experts Jan van Heijningen and Peter Klapwijk have been closely watching how the product reacts under artificial lights.
