“The situation on the market is very good for Spanish vegetables,” reports Michel Martinez, sales manager at Saint Charles Primeurs. “Right now, zucchinis, cucumbers and eggplants are the products we sell the most, at high prices.” According to Michel, this trend is normal for the month of January. “It is a cold period when there is less supply, that’s why prices go up.”
Michel adds that the market is calmer for the Moroccan and Spanish tomato. “We really have nice merchandise, nothing in bulk. However, despite the good demand, prices are less firm this week. Volumes are quite substantial.”
