India: Haryana approves 40 horticulture projects

In the 32nd State-Level Executive Committee meeting of the Indian Haryana State Horticulture Development Agency, held at Chandigarh last month, 40 horticultural projects were approved with an aim of increasing income of farmers.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare department Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal.

It was informed that a total of 14,776 farmers have availed benefits under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Mr. Kaushal reviewed the component-wise progress with utilization of funds and appreciated the efforts of the officials of the State Horticulture Mission, Haryana. He further informed that the Committee had approved 40 proposals of mushroom cultivation, banana ripening chamber, rooftop solar, cold storage, refrigerated van, planting infrastructure development, Integrated Post Harvest Management, etc. A subsidy of Rs 902.35 lakh has been allotted for it under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).
