Axia Sementi, the new Italian adventure for Axia Vegetable Seeds

"The Italian tomato market is very important, so we pay special attention to this market in our breeding activities. We'll breed directly in Italy and make the product available directly to Italian growers." With these words Sandor van Vliet launched the Italian branch of breeding company Axia Vegetable Seeds: Axia Sementi.

A lot of people attended the launch event organized by Axia Sementi, where Davide Recupero was presented as Country Manager Italy. Davide is 49 and a Sicilian through and through, has over 20 years of experience in the sector and has already worked for a leading seed company.

"I would like to thank Axia Vegetable Seeds for placing their trust in me. It is a new challenge with new responsibilities and I welcome it, putting myself at the service of Italian horticulture", he said.

50 tomato varieties
"On an international level, Axia reaches a market with considerable potential for all product ranges - 50 tomato varieties, 15 pepper varieties, 3 pumpkin varieties, 3 aubergine varieties, 10 zucchini and cucumber varieties and 5 watermelon varieties."

In order to promote its products more, Axia follows all the steps along the chain starting with genetics, production, processing, logistics and retail and ending with final consumers. "We do this to anticipate sector trends as well."

Managers of the Axia's main international branches reunited in Vittoria (RG) for the occasion.

All Axia managers then spoke to introduce themselves and offer their congratulations for the company's new Italian adventure.
