China: Large-scale centralized solar heating project put into operation in Lingdong District

A central heating project using solar energy of the agricultural park has been completed and put into operation in the tropical fruit greenhouse base in Lingdong District. The total investment for the project amounts to 7.567 million RMB with 28,000 m2 heating area.

The project adopts the latest high-temperature and high-efficiency solar patented collector technology and intelligent control system for the high-altitude region. It can heat the water temperature to over 90 °C by solar collectors without using electric auxiliary heating in winter. These kinds of collectors are 60% more efficient than traditional solar collectors and also fully automate the heating process.

At present, the project has been put into operation for the heating of 53 greenhouses with a total area of 28,000 m2.

It is said that the project can save 1,500 tons of coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 4,000 tons per year, and reduce sulfur dioxide and other oxide emissions by about 2.6 tons, which not only saves energy but also reduces environmental pollution.
