BPIA 2019 member fall fly-in

As part of the BPIA 2019 Members Fall Fly-In, the BPIA Government Affairs Committee (GAC) led representatives from numerous BPIA member companies in dozens of meetings on Capitol Hill. BPIA member company representatives met with members of the United States Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, and their staff from states including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington State. One BPIA member company representative said, “We may not have connected with every state in the Union, but it felt like we did.”

In addition to individual company issues, the GAC encouraged attendees to focus the meetings on PRIA related funding, biostimulants, and the potential use of biological products on hemp. See BPIA’s talking points here.

BPIA would like to thank all the attendees who traveled to Washington, DC to participate in these meetings, especially those attendees who traveled great distances including as far away as Belgium, Italy, and Kenya.

The day before the Hill Visits, the BPIA Regulatory Committee (RC) held an all-day meeting which included breakout sessions for the RC subcommittees. See RC board update here. The RC meeting included a discussion with representatives from EPA. See the topics here.
