72-730 RZ becomes Procano RZ

Newcomer in organic cultivation happy with ‘Tasty vine tomatoes’

Since the beginning of the year Wouter Green, part of the garden plant nursery Wouters, has started cultivating organic bell peppers and organic vine tomatoes. For the organic vine tomatoes, cultivation manager Tonnie Vink uses the 72-730 RZ variety that has now been given the name, Procano RZ. This was reason enough for cultivation advisors Ronald van den Bulk and John Verbruggen to bring over a cake.

Tonnie Vink is very enthusiastic about the ‘tasty vine tomatoes’: “We were looking for a vine tomato with a better flavor. One that would also fit in our 500-gram packages, which this variety does very well. We have gotten a lot of response from customers saying how much they liked the tomatoes.”

Above all, this variety has intermediate resistance to mildew and is extra resilient against strong cases of mildew. Procano RZ is now available to consumers.
