Playing quartets with sustainable plastics

How do you get your staff and your business relations involved in the debate regarding sustainable packaging? Gamification! At Oerlemans Packaging, they like to share information in an innovative and interactive way. That is why they have designed a quartets game that provides insight into a variety of themes regarding sustainability in the plastic industry.

Why?
A lot of investments into the plastic industry are being made for them to enhance sustainability, but not everyone knows the ins and outs of this topic.

For instance, in the game, the backgrounds of the cards show the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and the Dutch Plastic Pact. Also, every ‘R’ of the Rethink initiative can be found a set of cards in the game. Terms like biobased, biodegradable plastic and CO2-reduction are explained. The advantages of plastics are described as well as the usefulness of packaging, and subjects like the different types of plastic foil are explained as well. “This game takes you into the world of plastic and will provide some much-needed clarity about the subject”, according to the makers of the game.

Rob Verhagen, Sustainability Director: “I am very proud that we are able to share this with our colleagues and customers. The first reactions have been extremely positive! Do you have from the Redesign, the card of circular design?”
