Russia: 7.5 ha greenhouse complex completed near Bryansk

A greenhouse complex for growing vegetables has been constructed in the Zhurinichi village of the Bryansk region in Russia. The first seeds will be planted in the beginning of July.

The greenhouse covers an acreage of 7.2 ha, with the project attracting investments to the amount of 24.5 million euros. 140 working places will appear in the enterprise and it is planned to recruit new associates from the local population. The associates will have to start employment in the beginning of July in order to lay the groundwork for cultivation. It is planned to grow cucumber and tomatoes in the newly constructed greenhouse.

The complex will have all the contemporary equipment and systems: an air recirculation system and an artificial lighting system. They will also breed bumblebees for tomato pollination there. Thanks to the regulated microclimate, the greenhouses will work all year round and provide up to five thousand tons of vegetables a year. The complex is almost fully autonomous, it boasts its own boiler house, gas electro station and water supply wells.

The complex belongs to the Technologii Teplichnogo Rosta holding. The return on investment is expected within 7-8 years.
