Postponement of EU plans to combat ToBRFV

The presentation of EU plans for combating ToBRFV in tomato and pepper has been postponed. The various involved parties confirm this. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality could not provide a clear answer as to when the plans are going to be presented.

Originally the European member states would discuss the draft plans in a meeting of the Plant Health Committee in Brussels on the 23rd of May.

For Dutch growers, nothing will change about the situation for the time being. From TuinbouwAlert, among others, they are constantly reminded of the importance of taking hygiene measures.

But other issues, including the approach of Xylella, have been discussed at the meeting on 23rd of May. Point A-12 (a virus risk analysis by Italy) is in any case deleted. View the agenda here.
