The trend in darkening is mainly found in the increase in the number of layers of cloth in the greenhouse. The screens are installed double and even triple. But ... with the launch of PhormiTex Eclipse Dry by Phormium, a new dimension is given to it. This cloth is designed to offer a solution for the rising humidity in the greenhouse with the closed screen. When the screens are closed during the day, it will become hot and humid in the greenhouse. The growth of the plant soon comes to a halt. In addition, fungi can easily invade such a humid environment. This applies, among other things, to the cultivation of cannabis, poinsettias and chrysanthemums.

In the classic arrangement, the black cloth is positioned under and separated from the aluminum cloth. Peter Ollevier, Phormium: ”With the Eclypse Dry, they are, as it were, woven in 3-D. The black and aluminum cloths are woven together in one movement. They can be distinguished, but they are clearly connected. The connection is made by > 50,000 wicks per m2. These are small hydrophilic threads that trigger the capillary action. The moisture rises up and is drained again at the top."
The total screen package is certainly no thicker than with two cloths.
The first projects have already been realized. Both in the Netherlands and in California (USA) it has already been installed. That is fast, since it was only launched during the MJBizcon in Las Vegas in December. Peter: "That is very promising." Peter heard from one of the installers that the cloth is easier to install due to the fact that the cloths can no longer shift in relation to each other.
