Brittany: FRSEA denounces "massive" imports of fruit and vegetables

The FRSEA and the JA of Brittany complained about the massive imports of tomatoes, cucumbers and foreign strawberries through distribution.

In a press release, they point out price differences that they consider unacceptable: "the grape tomatoes were paid €0.45/kg net to producers," explains Thierry Merret, administrator of the FRSEA. It is not uncommon to find them on the shelves for more than 2 or 3 €.

The trade unions demand that the rules set by the Egalim law be respected and that "distribution, especially in the peak production season, be supplied only with French tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries.
