Grower Umit Cekirdek in Sinop, a city located on the northern coast of Turkey, is growing strawberries in his greenhouse through hydroponic production. The grower notes the high efficiency of this production method and underlines that there is high demand for his products in the market due to the high quality.
Umit Cekirdek: “With this production method, we are growing a lot of products in a small area, that’s why it is very efficient. We are using coco peat in production and we have managed to build the facility and start production in 1.5 years.
"We are trying to avoid the use of chemicals as much as possible, and these healthy products are in high demand in the domestic market. We have carefully analyzed and learned the optimum conditions for strawberries, and set up our production accordingly. Now we are delighted with the quality and the efficiency of our current setup.”
