NatureFresh & Dell EMC

"It’s all about collecting data and using it properly"

In modern greenhouses automation is increasing. Growing and harvesting is largely registered via all sorts of systems or apps, which means that a lot of data is collected. As a grower or manager you have to think about the way how to store all this data.

Dell EMC recently published a video in which they are showing how this is done at NatureFresh. They grow tomatoes on 175 acres, soon to be over 200 acres as they are under construction for another 32 acres.

“We have to be ahead of things. It’s all about collecting data and using it properly”, they say. And about cyber security: “We have high end firewalls because ransomware is the biggest hit out there that can take our whole organization down. Therefore we are continually improving our internal methods of looking how we store data.”
