Afghan Ministry of Agriculture distributes 20 greenhouses to farmer families

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL) of Afghanistan, through the National Horticulture and Livestock Program (NHLP), distributed 20 greenhouses to a number of farmer families in Khost province.

Each of the greenhouses worth 30,000 AFN [400 USD] were distributed to strengthen the economy of the households.

The aim of the greenhouses’ distribution is to produce fresh vegetables in winter season and in large-scale to prevent malnutrition of mothers and children.

These greenhouses also enable families to earn a good income by selling their vegetables.

Last year, MAIL had distributed greenhouses for 50 farmer families as well.
