EU agri-food delegation goes on trade mission to Japan

Commissioner Phil Hogan will be visiting Japan in May 2019, accompanied by a business delegation of senior representatives from the European agri-food sector. The purpose of this visit is to facilitate European agricultural food and beverage exports to benefit from the favourable outcome of the EPA EU – Japan, which entered into force on 1 February 2019.

The objective of the business delegation visit is to give the opportunity to the accompanying European producers’ representatives to meet potential partners from the local agri-food sector. The programme of activities for the business delegates will include seminars on the characteristics of the local market and consumer trends, retail and site visits and networking opportunities. The programme of activities for the business delegates will take place in Tokyo from 8 to 11 May 2019. The costs for flights and hotels have to be covered by participants but all business events from the official programme will be offered free of charge.

The registration for interested applicants is open now, deadline to apply is 20 February 2019.
